Big Hero 6 #1 – 5 + Extras (2008-2009)

The Story

Not only is the original Big Hero 6 property pretty obscure—the characters have only made a handful of appearances since the team’s 1998 debut—but Marvel has surprisingly not made any attempt to capitalize on the movie’s release with any new material. (Instead, Canadian publisher Joe Books will be putting out new material in the near future.) That leaves this 2008 mini-series by former X-Men writer Chris Claremont and artist David Nakayama as the best place to get comic book adventures from the team. It’s not the movie, but it’s … almost close?
