Tales to Astonish Vol. 2 #1 – 14 (1979-1981) : Reprint series of the first 14 issues of the Sub-Mariner series. Taking place after the destruction of Atlantis by the villain called Destiny, the Sub-Mariner has suffered total amnesia and is now a Bowery bum. He is discovered by Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, and is thrown into the water in the hope that it will revive the Atlantean. The water does its magic, and Namor’s memory returns. Unfortunately, he mistakenly blames the destruction of Atlantis on the surface dwellers, and wars against them until he can be convinced of his mistake.
